Sake Pase book lovers!
As a writer and mom, I firmly believe that reading books to your children stimulates their imagination and expands their understanding of the world around them.

And as a first-generation Haitian-American, I wanted to create something fun and engaging for my son, Luca, to tap into his creativity, all while learning a thing or two about his cultural heritage.
What better way than through children's books?! The illustrations, the characters, the tone... they all play such an intricate part in the storytelling.

Summer of 2021, just a couple of months after Luca was born, Luca and Lucky came to life. And what started as one book dedicated to my son turned into an entire series that now everyone can enjoy!
I hope these stories bring joy and love of our culture to your family as it has done with ours.

Katie Crumpton was born in South Carolina and currently lives in the Bay Area in California. Katie gets inspired for your illustrations by going on long walks, reading, watching movies, and playing video games. When Katie is not drawing, she is probably watching the Harry Potter movies for the umpteenth time, Hula-Hooping, creating music, or exploring a book shop.
